How do you prevent ants from invading food and other items?

Why does Thailand have ants on the upper floors of condos?

It is usual for Thailand to have ants on the upper floors of condos.　Ants sometimes use the small holes in the gaps between walls, doors and windows as entry and exit points. In Japan, apartment walls are made of reinforced concrete. It is poured together with pillars, floors, etc. This is to provide strength. In Thailand, however, partition walls are made of bricks or blocks and finished with mortar on the surface. This makes the inside of the wall a perfect home for ants. They may also nest in furniture.

Ants don’t like the smell of insecticides.

Ants invade anywhere. They can get inside unopened packages of rice or candy. When they see that there is food inside, they readily cut holes in thick plastic bags. They also get into sugar containers. They can also be inside refrigerators.

They go inside computers and destroy them. Finally, they even get into the bed in which you are sleeping. Sometimes they wake you up with an itch all over your body. Ants sting a lot and quite painful. It becomes itchy afterwards.

How can we prevent these ant infestations?

Some people place a container in the middle of a dish of water.

Ants don’t like the smell of insecticide. They know it is dangerous. There is a way to use this to prevent infestation.

Insecticides cannot be sprayed directly onto food. Because many people don’t like it.

Therefore, we spray insecticide inside or outside of a bag that is one size larger than a bag of rice or a bag of candy, and put the bag inside the bag of rice, bag of candy, or other items that we do not want ants to enter. This will keep the ants out for six months or a year. Although one may wonder if spraying insecticide is safe for the human body, the chemicals contained in insecticides usually have extremely low toxicity to the human body. However, some people may have a hard time accepting it.

Insects also nest in electrical appliances.

In the case of honey in jars, the insecticide is sprayed onto a rubber band. Spray the rubber band with the insecticide and wrap it around the jar just below the mouth of the jar. That’s it.

Some people have problems with ants coming into their beds and stinging them. There are ways to deal with this.
